Pescare(to fish)
1997
hydrocal, wood, resin, carrot
66h x 8w x 8d in.
Pescare (to fish) is part of the series of reliquaries Festina Lente or Festina Tarde (Make Haste Slowly). Her right arm is a carrot, which is replaced when shriveled. The dead carrot becomes part of the reliquary pedestal.

Pescare was the central element of an installation at Columbia College Chicago. A field of live carrots surrounded the figure and time waiting was marked on the blackboard walls.
The field rose to the ceiling as the carrots shriveled.
